Celebrate the Day of the Dead at the Inaugural Dia de Los Muertos Festival

On Saturday, November 2, 2019, Atlantans and visitors alike are invited to explore vibrant cultural traditions at the inaugural Dia de Los Muertos Festival and Parade in the historic city of Roswell, Georgia. Held on the grounds of City Hall from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., this exciting Day of the Dead celebration will pay homage to the Mexican holiday that honors those who have died with food, marigolds, dancing, music and more.

Free to attend for all ages, the fun-filled day will feature an array of activities and entertainment including a live mariachi band, street performers, a Mexican ballet group, complimentary face painting and so much more. At dusk, festival goers can light up the night during a mesmerizing Lantern Parade led by a marching band along the marigold-filled streets in downtown Roswell. Participants are welcome to bring their own lanterns or purchase a lantern kit at the festival for $5 to $25.

In addition to food vendors serving authentic Mexican cuisine, the festival will have a dynamic Tequila Tasting Experience boasting three of the top tequilas with mini shots prepared by a mixologist that will also be curating tequila cocktails for sampling, and a chef on-site creating tequila-inspired meals for tasting. For $45, attendees ages 21 and up will receive a souvenir cup, nine tasting tokens and a raffle entry to win a Mattel Dia de Muertos Barbie Doll. Three Days of Halloween Festivities at Tongue & Groove

Partygoers are invited to a series of wickedly sexy Halloween events at Tongue & Groove on Friday, October 25th, Saturday October 26th and Thursday, October 31, 2019. Wildwood Revival Announces Workshop & Experience Schedule

Already setting the stage with a thoughtfully curated lineup announced earlier this Summer, Wildwood Revival is living up to its moniker as the “anti-festival” going beyond the music and announcing the schedule for the sixth annual event’s workshops and experiences.

Ranging from a Gospel brunch where you can bring your instrument to a kayak river excursions, grilling demos, yoga, an artisan market and more. And while select experiences and workshops come free as a part of your ticket, there is limited space to certain activities, and Wildwood Revival ticket holders are encouraged to sign up in advance. THE LINEUP: Lucinda Williams, Shovels & Rope, Mandolin Orange, Son Volt, Langhorne Slim and The Lost at Last Band, Rayland Baxter, Rebirth Brass Band, The Texas Gentlemen, Charley Crockett, Lilly Hiatt, T. Hardy Morris, Super Doppler, Cedric Burnside, Illiterate Light, Revel in Dimes, and Georgia Mountain String Band. Performers take the stage in the Pecan Grove as well as inside the farm’s open-air barn. Beyond the stage lights, there are late-night picking sessions around the campfire where the best stories are often sung.

THE EXPERIENCES: Camping via tent, camper trailers or RV, a dance party to wrap up the festival on night two, a selection of local food and craft beer, an artisan market meets cultural revival, featuring handcrafted leatherwood, unique jewelry, vintage clothing, herbal apothecary, kitchen wares, modern-folk pop art, magic performance, tintype antique photography, yoga, a spectacle of badassery with purpose known as South East Women Wrestlers, all our favorite B’s with the Bluegrass brunch- booze, biscuits and banjos courtesy of Georgia Mountain String Band, guided river expeditions and the Gospel Brunch for One and All, featuring a host of the weekend’s artists and even you (bring your instrument).

Celebrating what’s old is new again, Wildwood Revival embraces its history as a cultural revival; making it a true antithesis to what people have come to think of festivals. The intimate gathering is returning September 27th through 29th on historic Cloverleaf Farm just outside of Athens, Georgia. Park Tavern Announces First Round of Performers for Sunset Sessions

Park Tavern is excited to announce the return of Sunset Sessions powered by Mountain Dew – a weekly, alternative music series in Piedmont Park that is raising the bar for live music experiences in Atlanta!

First launched in 2015, ALT 105.7 and Park Tavern will once again join forces to bring Atlantans and visitors alike a phenomenal lineup of live music from some of today’s most buzz-worthy artists every Sunday for free this spring and summer. The annual series will kickoff on April 28th under Park Tavern’s spacious, air-conditioned Garden Tent with Athens, Georgia native rocker, T. Hardy Morris with support from Neighbor Lady and Teddy & The Rough Riders.

Additional confirmed artists for Sunset Sessions include: Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers, Laura Reed and Whoa Dakota (5/05); Tropidelic, Of Good Nature and Beauregard & the Downright (5/12); Rhett Price (5/19); Kat Wright and The Rad Trads (6/02); Stop Light Observations and Sound Culture (6/09); Blair Crimmins and The Hookers, Remember Jones and The 502s (6/23); Rare Creatures and Dead Swells (6/30); Diane Coffee (7/07); Dr. Bacon (7/14) and Próxima Parada and Little Bird (7/28).
