    Live Music Lineup Revealed for Grant Park Summer Shade Festival

    The Grant Park Conservancy has revealed the live music lineup and schedule for the 17th annual Grant Park Summer Shade Festival on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25, 2019. Earning a reputation as a must-attend event to see some of the hottest up-and-coming bands, local talent and notable favorites, festival goers are invited to watch two days of nonstop high-energy performances. Featuring a diverse lineup for all tastes, 2019 artists include Blair Crimmins, Stripped, Cicada Rhythm, Common Ground, Old Ceremony, Mafia do Samba, ASH, R.A.H and many more.

    Produced by and benefiting the Grant Park Conservancy, the 2019 Grant Park Summer Shade Festival is open to all ages and free to attend. In addition to the impressive music lineup, this year’s festival will also have an expansive artist market, a Kids Zone presented by Grant Park Parents Network, the annual Adams Realtors Run for the Park 5K, a diverse selection of local food trucks, wine, frosty beers, craft cocktails and more.

    Additionally, tickets are now available for the exclusive VIP Lounge. Attendees are invited to relax in a private tent and enjoy complimentary food from a local caterer, premium wines, Monday Night Brewing craft beer, and the Signature Summer Shade Cocktail served in a souvenir cup. Guests are also invited to enjoy private, air-conditioned restrooms, misting stations, lounge seating.  Both single day and weekend VIP tickets are available for purchase at www.summershadefestival.org/vip.

    Grant Park Summer Shade Festival Recap

    On Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26, 2018, the 16th annual Grant Park Summer Shade Festival welcomed thousands of music and art lovers to Atlanta’s oldest park for two days of nonstop fun!

    Presented by The Beacon Atlanta and benefiting the Grant Park Conservancy, the festival kicked off with the annual Adams Realtors Run for the Park 5K on Saturday morning and featured an impressive lineup of live music throughout the weekend on two stages, which included unforgettable performances from Marshall Ruffin, Blair Crimmins, Christopher Paul Stelling, Rock*A*Teens, Front Porch Session Players, and Roxie Watson. Always a favorite, guests sipped, shopped and strolled through the expansive artist market, enjoyed a larger than life Kids Zone and took advantage of the exclusive VIP Lounge.

    The 16th annual Summer Shade Festival also had a diverse selection of local food trucks with offerings for all tastes, Monday Night Brewing craft beer, Bold Rock Cider, an array of cocktails and much more.  The 2017 festival raised more than 100 thousand dollars for the Grant Park Conservancy and its mission of protecting, enhancing and preserving the park while planning for its future needs. The 2018 festival celebrated Grant Park’s 135th anniversary. Details on proceeds raised at this year’s event will be announced in the coming months.

    Grant Park Conservancy Awarded The Opportunity To Be A Part Of Park Pride’s Esteemed Visioning Program

    Grant Park Conservancy is one of two organizations in the City of Atlanta that have been awarded the opportunity to be a part of Park Pride’s esteemed Park Visioning Program centered around community-supported design, education and open dialogue.

    Led by professional landscape architects on Park Pride’s staff, the Park Visioning Program will guide the Conservancy and Grant Park stakeholders and residents through a process that will turn the community’s vision for approximately eight acres of the southeast corner of the park into a conceptual master plan.

    “As we celebrate the park’s 135th anniversary this year, we could not think of a better time to officially kick-off our efforts with Park Pride and its Visioning Program. The process will enable everyone to work together and present a unified voice as we plan as a community for the park’s future,” says Michelle Blackmon, Grant Park’s Conservancy Executive Director.

    The Conservancy, along with a steering committee of community members assembled to help guide the process, has announced the dates for the community input sessions for those interested in being a part of this exciting project.

    Community Input Sessions: 

    • Sunday, June 10th, 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – Walk the project site and discuss “big ideas” for the area.  The site includes the section of the Boulevard parking lot. The lot is not part of the Grant Park Gateway Project through Ft. Walker and down to Atlanta Avenue.
    • Meet at Ft. Walker, intersection of Boulevard and Atlanta Ave. Rain location: The Circus School, 575 Boulevard SE.
    • Wednesday, July 11th, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Participate in a design workshop. The Circus School, 575 Boulevard SE.
    • Saturday and Sunday, August 25th and 26th – all day. Stop by the visioning booth at the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival to give feedback on preliminary design proposals.
    • Saturday, September 22nd, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Participate in a review of the final concept design. The Circus School, 575 Boulevard SE.
