It’s always a good day when I get to use my University of Georgia CrockPot. This recipe for savory meatballs with a garlic, herb, and lemon is so easy. Thanks to a few “hacks” such as frozen, precooked meatballs and Alouette herb cheese spread, it’s easy to throw everything in your crockpot; plus, these delicious morsels smell so savory when they’re steaming away.
Here’s our recipe for Savory Crockpot Meatballs with Garlic-Herb Cream Sauce
1 (32oz) bag home-style meatballs (in the frozen food section)
1/8 cup balsamic vinegar
1 TBSP extra virgin olive oil
1 (5.2oz) package garlic & herb cheese spread (ex. Boursin or Alouette)
4oz cream cheese
1 cup chicken broth
1 lemon, juiced
1 small onion, wedged
1 shallot, diced
1 cup fresh parsley, snipped fine
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Now the next ingredients are seasonings from Pampered Chef, however you can use a few heavy dashes of your favorite Italian seasoning instead:
2½T Pampered Chef Sweet Basil Rub
1T Pampered Chef Lemon Rosemary Rub
½T Pampered Chef Three Onion Rub
½T Pampered Chef Garlic & Herb Rub
I placed all these ingredients in a large 1 gallon Ziplock bag and froze it, then removed if about 24-48 hours before serving. If you’re doing this fresh, then just throw everything in the crock pot on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours.
These savory meatballs are sure to please. I’d love to know your thoughts on this recipe!
