It’s time to get those lobster bibs ready, because Saturday, June 15, 2019 is National Lobster Day and some of Atlanta’s hottest restaurants are offering perfectly cooked lobster delicacies. From STK Atlanta’s Lobster Mac and Cheese, Bully Boy’s Lobster Frites and Dantanna’s Lobster Ciopinno, Atlanta’s lobster lovers have plenty of dining options to choose from that will exceed all of their expectations.
STK Atlanta’s Lobster Mac and Cheese Recipe
Diners looking to elevate their mac and cheese this National Lobster Day can prepare STK Atlanta’s Lobster Mac and Cheese, a flavorful, mix of five different cheeses and crisp, crunchy golden brown crust and topped with an eye-catching lobster claw.
Lobster Mac and Cheese Ingredients:
4 oz mornay
2 oz milk
4 oz elbow pasta (cooked)
1 oz cheddar cheese
1⁄2 oz aged asiago cheese
1⁄2 oz parmesan
2.5oz lobster meat + one large claw
1oz lobster bisque
Mornay Sauce Ingredients:
8 oz butter
1 tbsp garlic, fine chopped
4 oz mornay
2 oz milk
4 oz elbow pasta (cooked)
1 oz cheddar cheese
1⁄2 oz aged asiago cheese
1⁄2 oz parmesan
2.5oz lobster meat + one large claw
1oz lobster bisque
Mornay Sauce Ingredients:
8 oz butter
1 tbsp garlic, fine chopped
1/2 cup diced onion
1 tbsp thyme
8 oz all-purpose flour
16 oz whole milk, warmed
1lbs sharp white cheddar, grated
8 oz fontina grated
8 oz asiago, grated
Salt and white pepper (use the best pepper mills for a stronger flavor and aroma)
Directions:
- For the mornay sauce, cook the butter until melted and foamy. Add the garlic, onion, and thyme and brown slightly. Add the flour and whisk to combine. Cook out the flour for 5 minutes until fragrant, stirring constantly. Slowly whisk in the warm milk in batches until combined. Add the cheese in batches and stir to combine season with salt and pepper. Cool and label.
- Sauté the lobster meat.
- Add the bisque, mornay and milk.
- Add the pasta and cheeses.
- Place in baking dish and cover with cheddar/parmesan. Brown in a salamander.
- Sauté the claw and place on top as garnish.
- Garnish with chives.
