Pretty Southern was privileged to attend the Atlanta Food Bloggers Society dinner at Davio’s Atlanta. Celebrating the launch of his first book “It’s All About the Guest” Davio’s proprietor, Steve DiFillippo, was there to host. For a Yankee, Steve is truly a gentleman (joking y’all). This man knows how to show true hospitality to his guests. One of my favorite quotes from his book is, “success absolutely depends on good guest experiences…this takes social agility, grace, and some serious emotional and physical fortitude.” The proof is literally in the pudding (well panna cotta) at Davio’s Atlanta. Here’s a glimpse of the meal we shared:

Olives and peppers – an homage to its northern Italian roots

First course: crab cake with mustard sauce

Second course; gnocchi bolognese with braised veal, beef, pork and tomato sauce.

Photo credits to Kevin Patrick, my husband and eternal +1, who cleaned his plate!

Entree: Davios Surf & Turf with N.Y. prime sirloin & seared sea scallops over pea risotto.

Y’all I’m still dreaming about these perfect scallops!

Panna cotta with locally grown Georgia strawberries and fresh mint

Since it was all about the guest, we topped it off with dark chocolate truffles.
That night, it truly was all about the guest, and we’re ready for another trip to Davio’s Atlanta soon! We especially enjoyed dining with Sweet Savant, Friday Date Night, and We Like to Cook! Be sure to pick up your copy of “It’s All About the Guest”, and special thanks to Steve DiFillippo and to the Atlanta Food Bloggers Society. Here’s an inside look at Davio’s from Steak Shapiro of Atlanta Eats.
