Savory Crockpot Meatballs with Herb Cream Sauce

    Georgia_Crockpot_Southern

It’s always a good day when I get to use my University of Georgia CrockPot. This recipe for savory meatballs with a garlic, herb, and lemon is so easy. Thanks to a few “hacks” such as frozen, precooked meatballs and Alouette herb cheese spread, it’s easy to throw everything in your crockpot; plus, these delicious morsels smell so savory when they’re steaming away.

Here’s our recipe for Savory Crockpot Meatballs with Garlic-Herb Cream Sauce

1 (32oz) bag home-style meatballs (in the frozen food section)
    1/8 cup balsamic vinegar
1 TBSP extra virgin olive oil
1 (5.2oz) package garlic & herb cheese spread (ex. Boursin or Alouette)
    4oz cream cheese
    1 cup chicken broth
    1 lemon, juiced
    1 small onion, wedged
    1 shallot, diced
1 cup fresh parsley, snipped fine
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp pepper

Now the next ingredients are seasonings from Pampered Chef, however you can use a few heavy dashes of your favorite Italian seasoning instead:

2½T Pampered Chef Sweet Basil Rub
1T Pampered Chef Lemon Rosemary Rub
½T Pampered Chef Three Onion Rub
½T Pampered Chef Garlic & Herb Rub

I placed all these ingredients in a large 1 gallon Ziplock bag and froze it, then removed if about 24-48 hours before serving. If you’re doing this fresh, then just throw everything in the crock pot on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours.

These savory meatballs are sure to please. I’d love to know your thoughts on this recipe!

  • That Guy BAMN!

BAMNWho’s that? It’s That Guy BAMN! This Atlanta-based artist is spinning rhymes like it’s his business. His album “First Class” is the perfect title, as this about as good as Southern rap gets. Following in the footsteps of great rappers before him, BAMN has a sound that’s distinctly Southern with rhymes smoother than silk.

“Brandon Ford, better known to most as BAMN, was born in Vidalia, Ga., on a stretch of farmland he affectionately calls the “kuntry”. As a child, like many others BAMN would flip buckets upside down and beat them with sticks as if they were drums. However during his adolescence BAMN discovered he had a real way with words. During middle school he began writing poetry; poetry that molded his spoken word into raps. BAMN boasts that his solid work ethic instilled in him by his strong family and rappers like Outkast, Twista, and Field Mob to name a few heavily influenced his love and dedication for music. Here at Pretty Southern, we’ve had his single “Do Dat” on repeat in the car stereo for months now!”

  • Honey Honey Sweetens Up Atlanta

    Honey honey music

Miss Katy Ruth Camp recently introduced me to the music of Honey Honey. Now this is some Pretty Southern music, especially the lyrics to “Thin Line”.

‘Cause I want whiskey when I’m sick
And a man when I’m well
But it’s nice to have them both sometimes
When I feel like raising hell

So don’t try and save me
    I’ll be just fine
I’m getting used to walking on a thin line

    Some days I try hard
    To watch my mouth
    To say the right things
But the wrong just slip right out

Oh, I ain’t no Southern belle
    No Georgia peach
I guess all my good graces are too far out of reach

  • Davios Atlanta Dinner – It’s All About The Guest

    It's All About the Guest

Pretty Southern was privileged to attend the Atlanta Food Bloggers Society dinner at Davio’s Atlanta. Celebrating the launch of his first book “It’s All About the Guest” Davio’s proprietor, Steve DiFillippo, was there to host. For a Yankee, Steve is truly a gentleman (joking y’all). This man knows how to show true hospitality to his guests. One of my favorite quotes from his book is, “success absolutely depends on good guest experiences…this takes social agility, grace, and some serious emotional and physical fortitude.” The proof is literally in the pudding (well panna cotta) at Davio’s Atlanta. Here’s a glimpse of the meal we shared:
